Camp Waipu Cove’s Nearby Beaches

Camp Waipu Cove is located close to a selection of beautiful Northland beaches; all within close driving distance of Waipu Cove. Spend your holiday exploring the many Northland attractions and activities. After a long day enjoying the many sights of Northland, return to our Waipu Cove accommodation for a hot shower and a BBQ.

Mangawhai Heads Ocean Beach
Mangawhai Heads Ocean Beach is a nice surf beach with surf patrol and flags in season. Toilets and change room facilities are available. Mangawhai is around 20 minutes’ drive from our Waipu Cove camping ground

Pacific Beach
Pacific Beach is down the first road left after Mangawhai School. This is a pretty beach with toilets and picnic tables.

Eyres Point, Mangawhai
A few kilometres past Pacific Beach, turn off to the left to find Eyre’s Point. This stunning beach has a coin-operated BBQ and picnic table areas.

Te Arai Point
Te Arai Point is at the north end of Pakiri Beach. There are coin-operated BBQs, a picnic area, toilets and a changing room. This beach is the safest un-patrolled beach and is around a 45 minute drive from Camp Waipu Cove.

Langs Beach
Langs Beach is a lovely surf beach, with lovely pohutukawa trees along the edge. There are toilets and a change shed at the southern end of beach, in the car parking area. Langs Beach is just a few minutes’ drive from our Waipu Cove holiday park, or around an hours’ walk.

Uretiti Beach
Approximately five kilometres north of Waipu, access Uretiti Beach via Tip Road or just north of Waipu Golf Course on SH1. This beach offers good surfcasting, swimming and body surfing.

Ruakaka Beach
Ruakaka Beach is a long open beach, just 15 minutes drive from Camp Waipu Cove, which is surf patrolled in the summer season. There is a changing room and toilets and a playground area for the kids.
