Camp Waipu Cove has three large amenities blocks, each of which includes kitchen, covered outdoor dining, free BBQ's, shower, toilet and laundry facilities. All are wheelchair accessible, and we also have a baby change/bath room and separate accessible WC and shower rooms – please ask for the key to these on arrival.
Our three large camp kitchens are well-equipped with fridges, freezers, electric hobs, electric ovens, microwaves, toasters, boiling water and plenty of food preparation / washing up space. Enjoy your meal in one of our covered outdoor dining areas, or eat al fresco on the beach or reserve right next door. Note: Pots, pans and cooking utensils are not provided but kitchen utensil boxes can be hired from reception for a $25 bond.
Two free electric BBQs are located outside both the North Block and Lock Block kitchens within the campground; there is one located in the Middle Block kitchen area along with another one located outside cabin 12 (K12), another two on the day reserve at the southern end of the campground (this public area is also maintained by Camp Waipu Cove). Please leave BBQs safe and clean for the next user.
Each of our three ablutions blocks includes a 24-hour self-serve laundry with washing tubs. Machines operate using rechargeable cards which are available from the kiosk machines in each laundry (Eftpos, Debit or Credit card required to purchase). Initial cost for card is $4 (refundable on departure), hot/cold wash $4, dryer (45 mins) $4. Washing powder ($2 per box) is available in each laundry and there are also outdoor washing lines provided for guest use.
There are five toilet blocks and three (hot water) shower blocks at Camp Waipu Cove, so wherever your site or cabin is, you’ll never have to walk too far. Hot showers are FREE to guests. We also have refreshing outdoor showers around the campground – perfect for cleaning sandy feet or cooling off on a hot day! We ask that you please keep your water consumption to a minimum
Two of our ablutions blocks include separate accessible WC and shower rooms, and in the third we have a baby change room with a baby bath – please ask for the key to these on arrival. We also have a new fully accessible self contained deluxe cabin (#15) which is available to book on-line or direct with the office.
Our beautiful Waipu Cove Beach and the surrounding area provide hours of entertainment for visitors, whether you like swimming, surfing, boating, walking or just relaxing in the sun. And, when you’ve finished exploring the beach and local attractions, there is more entertainment back at the campground.
A great place to relax when the weather isn't so great! 50-inch TV with Sky and Sky sport, plus a selection of books, toys and games for young and old. No food or drinks allowed. Open from 7.30am daily.
It’s not just a tennis court – with its multipurpose sports surface and movable net, the courts can also be used for a friendly game of basketball, netball or soccer (sorry, no bikes, scooters or skateboards). The court is free to use for guests of Camp Waipu Cove – just book in at the office. Bookings are available in 1 hour slots, from 9am to 8pm daily. And, if you didn’t bring your racquet, we have some for loan at the office.
We now have a jumping pillow for guests of all ages to use, located by our tennis court this jumping pillow is inflated between 9am - 6pm daily and is loads of fun!
WiFi is free of charge. 10GB for 7 days on up to 5 devices. You will be given your unique code upon arrival.
There are two great playgrounds situated within the campground – hours of use are 7:30am to 9pm daily.
The Waipu Cove General Store is within 200m from Camp Waipu Cove. At this traditional seaside dairy, you can buy everything from fruit and vegetables to hot fish and chips. The General Store also sells fresh bread, milk and other grocery items, along with cold drinks, ice creams, potato chips etc. Open 7 days – 7:30am–7pm year round and 7.30am–8.30pm over summer.
Stroll across the road to The Cove Café, bar and restaurant and enjoy a great selection of food and beverages – dine in or take away. Open 9am–9pm daily and 8am–late every day over summer.
Just 10 minutes’ drive from the campground is the small village of Waipu, where you will find a Four Square store (small supermarket), Butcher, Chemist, Hardware store, Post Shop, Petrol station and a variety of restaurants, cafes and other interesting stores for browsing.
